The club
Set on the Common, above the town.
Pontypridd Golf Club sits 400 feet up on Pontypridd Common, sharing its hillside with a prehistoric stone circle. Eighteen holes of Welsh hillside — secluded, tranquil, and open to all standards of golf. Members have played here since 1905, through a clubhouse that burned down in 1909 and was rebuilt better inside a year.

The Common asks questions from the first tee.

The climb that pays you back
Steep walks between some of the tees. From the top the whole of Pontypridd opens out below — the town, the railway threading the valley, the hills beyond.
Into the trees
Tranquil, tree-lined, sloping
Parts of the course drop into the trees and go quiet. Canopied approaches to greens that slope more than they look — a soft touch wins here.

Venue hire
A room with a view.
The function room looks out over the town from the top of the Common — space for up to 120 guests, or two rooms of 90, with a serviced bar and home-cooked food from the club kitchen. Weddings and wakes, christenings and children's parties, golf days and the office do. See the full venue pages.
Weddings
An SWPP-listed venue with the best backdrop in town — and a buggy ride to the top of the course for the photographs.
Celebrations of life
A calm, private room above the town — with space for everyone who wants to raise a glass.
Christenings & baby showers
The room takes an arch and a backdrop beautifully — and the bar stays staffed for the grown-ups.

Level floor, parking at the door and no stairs — soft-play hire and entertainers come in happily.

Golf day, bacon rolls, and a proper meal back at the clubhouse — we host fundraisers all season.
Christmas parties
The room dressed up, the bar stocked, and the whole team up the hill for the night. December fills from September.

The clubhouse
Where the members actually live.
Refurbished in 2021 and still hanging the boards. A sports bar, a members' lounge with the pool table and the dartboard, a big screen for the golf and the rugby, and two walls of hand-painted honours going back through the club's life.
- Sports bar and lounge — pool, darts, and the golf on the big screen.
- The honours boards — the Mog John Memorial Cup, the Frank Wride Cup, the Tyfica Cup and the rest. The story behind them.
- Changing rooms and showers, and a function room local companies and charities book regularly for breakfast meetings — Wi-Fi and a projector already in it.

Join the club on the hill.
A family community of golfers, priority tee times, and a clubhouse refurbished in 2021 at the top of the town.

Seven-day membership: priority tee times, discounted guest rates and buggies, members' handicap, and the clubhouse as your local.
Age-related discounts are available — ask the office for details. Pay annually, or monthly over ten months for a small admin fee. No joining fee, and no waiting list.

Visitors & societies
Green-fee golfers, always welcome.
Book a tee time, arrive a little early, and play one of the most distinctive rounds in the Valleys.
- Golf days & societies — from 8 golfers upwards, with buggy hire at £25. Send them the course card before they come.
- Morning bacon rolls on arrival, then a one- or two-course meal back in the clubhouse after your round.
- Seven days a week — visitors are welcome whenever the course is open.
